Please join us Sunday, Feb 14th at 3 pm for our 6th Galena United Methodist Church Governance Restructuring “Town Hall” meeting. The Governance structure brings Finance, Trustees, Staff Parish & Ad Council into one Board of 9, freeing the church for Discipleship, ministry and mission.
“Our need is to have efficient, accountable church leadership while getting more people involved in mission and ministry instead of committees. Governance is not the mission of the church. Governance supports the mission of the church.”
All other teams or committees remain active and poised for growth. The Leadership Boards creates task groups as needed for business, such as working with treasurer to build a draft budget for the board. At the encouragement of previous Superintendent, Rev. Lisa Cruse-Stafford we began to explore the process and our current Superintendent, Rev. Fabiola Grandon-Mayer, agreed that this model would work well for us.
