Galena United Methodist Church (GUMC) welcomes
worshipers of all ages and backgrounds.
GUMC is composed of individuals with various depths of spiritual and discipleship roots, who desire to grow as followers of Jesus and witness in their community with radical hospitality, a love for all neighbors and a heart for social justice.
We lead our congregation in worship, deepening the connection to God, understanding the teachings of Christ, and ultimately to a vibrant faith. We have a long history of serving the people of Galena. Through the dedication of our pastor, staff members and volunteers, we are committed to the teachings of Jesus Christ, and are here to spread His message. Spiritual formation is interwoven into our life of worship, study, prayer and programming.

Galena United Methodist Church is committed to Christ and His word. We are dedicated to sharing the love of Christ through ministry, fellowship and worship. Our church is not just a house of worship. At its core are the members and believers that come together to practice God’s word, celebrate His love and extend His gifts to all.
Reconciling Ministries
We celebrate God's gift of diversity and value the wholeness made possible in community equally shared and shepherded by all. We welcome and affirm people of every gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation, who are also of every age, race, ethnicity, physical and mental ability, level of education, and family structure, and of every economic, immigration, marital, and social status, and so much more.
We acknowledge that we live in a world of profound social, economic, and political inequities. As followers of Jesus, we commit ourselves to the pursuit of justice and pledge to stand in solidarity with all who are marginalized and oppressed.
