Meet Our Pastor
Rev. Jin-Hee Kang
Rev. Jin-Hee Kang was born and raised in South Korea. She has a Master’s degree in Theology from Hypsung Theological Seminary in South Korea. She also has a Master of Divinity from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL.
She worked as a chaplain intern at MacNeal hospital in Berwyn, IL. She received a certificate in spiritual direction from the Spiritual Guidance Training Program at Siena Retreat Center in Racine, Wisconsin. She was ordained in the Northern Illinois Conference. She has served Winthrop Harbor UMC, North Prairie UMC, Living Faith UMC, New Hope UMC of Waukegan, and Rock Falls UMC.
She is a progressive spiritual leader who invites people to rethink church. She has a passion to share God’s unconditional love and grace with all people. She is a devoted supporter of inclusive ministry and social justice ministry. She enjoys listening to music, singing, gardening, walking, and watching nature. She is married to Sung Lim, and together they have two grown children, Lory and Alec.
